Springboard goes into mobile substrate safe mode? Why? For your own protection

I had no idea there was a mobile substrate safe mode. Well there you go. The funny thing is; I got 2 comments today asking about SBSetting perhaps causing the problem. I was not going to blog about this, but recently I saw a post on how Walmart now has an iPhone version of their site.  I have a friend visiting from the UK, and instead of renting a bike for a few days, I did some research and found it cheaper to buy a new one. After a bit of searching, I found a mountain bike for $60 at Walmart on sale. We headed off to the store and it was listed as $69 in the store. Hmm..  So I walked outside where I could get reception and accessed the Walmart site which at that time was iPhone enabled, searched for the bike and took a screen shot.

Not having GPS or ATT data on the iPod touch can be a limiting factor, especially when you want to use google maps for a trip… or is it?  Well, I’ve written that GPS should be coming very soon, but I came across this post by 3amJosh where he shows how you can store turn by turn directions for a trip and use without a web connection. Although you do not get a moving dot to tell you where you are, its still a great way to store driving directions.
