I was reading an article about this student who’s laptop was shoot up when she crossed into the Isrial. I have no comment on the issue of over raction, I do not live there so I cannot know, but you have to admit, to have this ad display within the artcle? Pure Gold! I took a screenshot. Om nom nom nom has been an Interwebs meme to a longtime, especially with LOLcats. Now I originally thought Om nom nom came from the cesspool that is 4chan. However, after seeing this 20th anniversary interview with the cookie monster, its make total sense that it came from him.. or it..

Whats great about ‘nom’ is its popularity across languages. I remember listening to some armature travel video about SF from a German perspective and in the middle of the narrative you hear ‘nom nom nom’ as he is eating. Cool things interweb memes.

I just posted a few hours ago that we are going to see a rush of new augmented reality apps soon, and then I get an email for a new app that does the basics you would expect, and it looks pretty nice. This one will work on 3GS phones, but without the fancy AR bits of course. Its a buck in the Apple store.

Here are some details about how the application works:

- Vertical position: 360-degree view of all POI nearby your location, updated in real time as you walk in the streets.

- Horizontal position: List of all nearest POI. When a POI is selected, a blue arrow (compass) is displayed to show the direction and the distance to that POI.

It always seem to be the way with smart phones isnt it? Just read in Gizmodo of a hack that will give you 320×480 resolution video at 30fps. Sweeet. And have a look at the video below. Nice. So what does this mean? Well, depending on the GPS abilities of the Pre we could (perhaps) see a few AR apps.

You need to root (jailbreak) your Palm Pre for this.

How to tether your iphone without jailbreaking

I just read this today on ismashiphone (link).. The posts describe the steps required to tether your iphone 3g(s) IF you are updated to the new 3.0 firmware. Since I use PDANet (paid for it too) I have not tried it personally, but I’m sure there are a few readers who love to have this capability.

I read through the post and the notes; so a few words of warning…
